Employee Spotlight – Paige Lembas

    Welcome to the Employee Spotlight

Welcome to another edition of the Mahoney ‘Employee Spotlight’!  This spotlight is our way to reflect on and draw positive attention to the most important assets of Mahoney – its employees! A functioning business cannot function without a solid team in place, and we are extra proud of that team.  Every couple of weeks, an employee will be nominated and featured.  Next up is Paige Lembas.

What is your role at the company? How long have you been with Mahoney and what position did you start at?

P:  I am the Customer Solutions Assistant Manager; I have been here for 3.5 years.

If you could switch your job with anyone else within Mahoney, whose job would you want?

P:  Maybe someone in operations, so I can learn more about how routing works.

How do you balance your career at Mahoney with family life?

P:  I have never really been one to put in my eight and skate, so my laptop follows me around wherever I go. I would rather approach a fire as it starts rather than wait until there is an inferno.

What is on your wish list for the next five years at ME?

P:  To continue moving up within the company and continue expanding my knowledge.

What is your favorite aspect of your job?

P:  Problem solving and consistently learning.

What has been your favorite project that you worked on here at Mahoney?

P:  Currently, I am working on redesigning our customer service room. This will not only improve the overall customer experience, but it also allows me to use my creative side.

What drew you to Mahoney when you initially started and how has the company changed since then?

P: I looked at Mahoney as a place where I could start a career and not get stuck in another dead-end job.

Before working at Mahoney, what was the most interesting or unusual job you had?

P: I used to be a kickboxing instructor. The other was a deep tissue massage therapist.

Share your proudest moment since coming on board at Mahoney?

P: Being promoted to Customer Solutions Assistant Manager last spring.

What are three words you’d use to describe Mahoney Environmental?

    P: Opportunity, Thriving, Family.

    Miscellaneous Questions (non-job related)

Do you have a favorite or inspirational quote to share?

P:  “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

     – Michael Jordan

Best vacation you have been on?

P: Bachelorette Party in Denver last fall. We went hiking at Bear Lake in Estes Park, got tattoos, and went shopping. The best part is, I finally got to go on vacation with two of my best friends since I was two years old.

If you could change careers right now, what would you choose?

P: I would work on expanding my caramel business. I would buy a small house, on a busy road, and convert it into the best confectionary shop in the Midwest.

If you could interview one person in the world (dead or alive), who would it be, and why?

P: I would love to interview my grandmother. The last conversation we had, she started to tell me about when she was a little girl (maybe 6 years old). She was playing in the street with a little boy right outside of an orphanage. She told me she lived there with her sister. She started to share her story with me but then she had to leave to go visit my grandfather in the nursing home. She promised to finish the story the next time I came over. Unfortunately, my grandmother away about two weeks later and I never did hear the end of the story.

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?

P: Martha Stewart. She can cook, decorate, and can survive prison.

What are you currently watching on Netflix?

P: The Office and Parks & Rec.

Choose your Mr. Men/Little Miss character (the original emoji from the 70’s/80’s) to describe your work personality? Your home life personality?

P: For work: Little Miss Busy.  For home: Little Miss Fun.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?

P:  Teleportation or Super speed. I believe we waste too much of our lives on waiting in airports, stuck sitting in traffic, etc.

    Motto or personal mantra?

P: It wouldn’t be handed to you, if you couldn’t handle it.

People would be surprised if they knew what about you or what’s your secret talent that no one knows about?

P: I recently started racing pure stock race cars part time on Saturday nights. I am looking to move to full time next year.

Do you have an office nickname? What is it?

    P: Twitch

Three words that best describe you?

    P: Optimistic, Intricate, Daredevil.
